10th Anniversary Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Announced

In 2003, Jeep commemorated the off-road capable Jeep Wrangler with a special addition, thus the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon was born. Nearly ten years later, Jeep is celebrating the success of the Rubicon as a king of off-roading with the introduction of a special 10th anniversary addition designed to provide off-road enthusiasts with (almost) all the gear they could ever want.

The special Rubicon rides 1/2 inch taller than stock to accommodate beefy BF Goodrich KM2 off-road tires that are fitted to 17 inch black alloy wheels. Instead of the typical plastic front bumper, Jeep has fitted a full steel front bumper with removable end caps making the installation of an aftermarket winch that much easier.

The 10th anniversary Jeep Wrangler will be offered in two door and four door models, and will be available in either a five speed automatic, or a six speed manual. Either transmission will be mated to Jeep’s updated V6 producing 285 hp and 260 fp-lb.

And so other guys on the trail know you’re driving something special, the Wrangler Rubicon 10th anniversary addition will be fitted with a bright red leather interior, and a bunch of badges identifying it as a unique jeep. The special edition Wrangler will go on sale in the spring of 2013.
