Autosport International held in Birmingham, UK, showcases all sorts of racecars for the public to enjoy. This year, Lotus will feature two track ready cars at the show, the Exige V6 Cup, and the Exige V6 Cup R.
The Lotus Exige V6 Cup is a street legal car perfect for the driver who enjoys track days. Weighing only 2,380 lbs., the Exige V6 Cup uses a 3.5-liter supercharged engine that produces 345 hp and 295 lb-ft. The car reaches 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds on to a top speed of roughly 170 mph.
The V6 Cup is fitted with goodies any track rat could want. Four piston AP racing brake calipers are installed front and rear, along with cross-drilled 2 piece brake discs. The Lotus features 2 way adjustable dampers, an FIA approved roll-cage, a 6-point race harness, and a removable steering wheel.
The Lotus Exige V6 Cup R is not street legal. But its extreme lightweight, and track-optimized gear make it a wonderful car for the gentleman racer. The Lotus Exige V6 Cup R uses a tuned version of the 3.5-liter engine found in the Exige Cup to produce 370 hp and 295 lb-ft. It reaches 62 mph in under 3.8 seconds, and has a top speed of approximately 170 mph. The Cup R weights only 2,292 lbs. In addition to the racing kit found on the V6 Cup, the Cup R comes with a quick release engine cover, a lightweight racing battery, performance brake pads, and a dry sump system to improve engine lubrication under cornering forces.
Pricing information has yet to be released on the two track cars.
